Sundance Institute, the Sundance Film Festival's organiser, and not-for-profit foundation Cinereach have chosen 11 lucky filmmakers to benefit from their jointly supported $1.5 million three-year initiative called the Cinereach Project.

The venture aims to offer financial assistance and filmmaking resources to up-and-coming documentary and narrative-feature directors, producers and writers from around the world. The goal is to help them develop, produce or complete films that are innovative, aim to promote cultural exchange and have social significance.

The selected few will also be able to take advantage of the Sundance Institute's facilities, such as the Screenwriters Lab, Directors Lab, Composers & Documentary Lab, the Creative Producing Feature & Documentary Labs, and the Sundance festival itself. The next edition of the festival takes place 20-30 January, 2011.

Among the projects picked receiving grants from the Cinereach Project are Yelling To The Sky, by writer/director Victoria Mahoney, and producer Diane Houslin. Postcards From The Zoo is co-written and co-directed by Daud Sumolang and Edwin; and produced by Meiske Taurisia and Lorna Tee.
