Richard Lynch's Hollywood roll-call
If you feel American-born Lynch has one of those faces you've seen
several times before, it is because you have. He has had major
roles in several Hollywood films and TV series.
Think of vintage TV classics Battleship Galactica, Starsky and
Hutch, TJ Hooker, The A-Team, and Star Trek: The Next Generation,
among several others.
On films, he's worked with Al Pacino and Gene Hackman (1973 Cannes
Film Festival Grand Prix winner Scarecrow); the late Lynn Redgrave
(The Happy Hooker); Sydney Poitier and River Phoenix (Little
Nikita), and with Malcolm McDowell in the 2007 remake of slasher
film Halloween.
"The irony was that, after making so many movies, he was worried
he might let us down," says Gary Douglas, co-producer and financier
of Gun Of The Black Sun. "Instead, he delivered. He put everything
he had into that movie. I felt blessed to have worked with
him."
Richard Lynch's other achievements
Lynch, whose background includes serving in the US Marine Corps
from 1958 to 1961 and a long-established theatre career on and off
Broadway, trained with the legendary Lee Strasberg (whose students
included Marlon Brando, Marilyn Monroe, Paul Newman, Al Pacino and
Robert de Niro).
The multi-lingual Lynch is also a talented musician who plays the
saxophone, piano, guitar and flute.
Gun Of The Black Sun is released exclusively on DVD on 1 August
2011.
